Tyler Perry Honors Spike Lee at New Studio

Regardless of their previous feud, Tyler Perry felt is was necessary to honor Spike Lee for paving the way for black film makers at the grand opening of his new studio in Atlanta.  His new 330 acre studio, which was previously a confederate army base during the civil war,  has 12 sound stages that bears the names of black pioneers in the film industry. 

In addition to Spike Lee, Perry also honored Oprah Winfrey, John Singleton,  Sidney Poitier, Whoopi Goldberg, Dushanbe Carroll, Denzel Washington,  Will Smith, Della Reese and Halle Berry.  Plenty of Hollywood’s finest we’re in attendance for this grand event including Ava DuVernay, Oprah Winfrey, Patti LaBelle, Cicely Tyson and Beyoncé just to name a few.
